Due to the ongoing interruptions caused by COVID-19, the Texas Supreme Court and many county courts in Texas have issued emergency orders affecting various legal proceedings, including extending various legal deadlines and putting certain types of legal proceedings on temporary hold.

For example, in its Fourth Emergency Order the Texas Supreme Court has put a hold on all trials, hearings, and other proceedings for residential evictions and tolled all deadlines for such proceedings until at least April 19, 2020, with a few very specific exceptions.

As the Texas state and local courts are reviewing the COVID-19 situation on an ongoing basis and continue to take action, be sure to stay up to date on how these orders affect your rights and any pending on ongoing litigation your business may have in the Texas.
